Peakside Capital was founded in 2010 as a result of a management buy-out. The former investors put their trust in the well-practised and successful team right from the start and have since also invested in derivatives opportunities provided by Peakside Capital.
Since then, Peakside Capital has grown in employee numbers, with experienced managers and employees who have previously worked with renowned investment management companies such as Tishman Speyer, Heitmann, PATRIZIA Immobilien AG or Investa. The Peakside team has therefore been working together in various configurations for many years, has a successful track record in various asset classes and investment strategies. The management has an average experience of more than 20 years in all market cycles of the real estate sector. We are familiar with the needs and expectations of institutional and private wealth investors from various cultures and have maintained long-term relationships of trust and partnership with many investors. Our managers and staff, like our clients, come from a wide range of countries and cultures.

Mr. Aumann is a Founding Partner of Peakside Capital and currently oversees all of Peakside´s acitvities in Central and Eastern Europe as well as selected asset management activities in Germany. In addition he serves as a board member of Peakside ROS Outlet Management (“PROM”), a leading outlet center manager in CEE.
Mr. Aumann has over 19 years of industry experience. Prior to founding Peakside, Mr. Aumann was a Director and Head of Asset Management in the Real Estate Principle Investment division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) since 2008 being responsible for a Pan European real estate and loan portfolio in excess of EUR 1.0 bn deployed equity. From 2004 until 2008, Mr. Aumann was in charge for the origination and execution of transactions in Germany at Merrill Lynch. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 2004, Mr. Aumann worked for seven years in the Real Estate Principal Investment division (Whitehall Funds) of Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Aumann is a German citizen. He graduated from the European Business School (Oestrich-Winkel) with a degree in business administration.
Mr. Schran is a Founding Partner of Peakside and currently oversees all of Peakside´s activities in Germany with a particular focus on the origination and execution of value add/opportunistic investments.
Mr. Schran has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to founding Peakside, Mr. Schran was a Director in the Real Estate Principle Investment division at Bank of America Merril Lynch (BAML) and responsible for origination and acquisition since 2008. From 2005 until 2008, Mr. Schran was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for asset management and origination in Germany and served as board member of a German residential company with about 48,000 apartments and 400 employees. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Schran was the Managing Director of the Archon Group Deutschland (part of Goldman Sachs) and the head of development at Vivico, a major German developer, for Southern Germany.
Mr. Schran is a German citizen. He studied business administration at Liebig-Universität (Gießen) and Goethe Universität (Frankfurt) and holds a degree in real estate economics from the European Business School (Oestrich Winkel).
Mr Maziukiewicz is a Managing Director at Peakside Capital Advisors in Luxembourg, overseeing the investor reporting and regulatory compliance of the company and its vehicles under management.
Mr Maziukiewicz has 12 years of finance experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining Peakside Capital Advisors in 2013, Mr. Maziukiewicz was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of KSP Real Estate Investment Management since 2012. From 2005 to 2012 he was Vice President of Heitman Luxembourg, where he was responsible for the consolidation and reporting of regulated specialized investment funds as well as for unregulated structures and separate account operations. Mr Maziukiewicz was also part of the transaction team supporting acquisitions and dispositions (i.e., leading tax and financial due diligence efforts) and was actively involved with tax and debt restructuring activities of Heitman. Prior to joining Heitman, Mr. Maziukiewicz worked for Arthur Andersen and Ernst&Young in Poland where he was a senior audit consultant.
Mr Maziukiewicz is a Luxembourgish and Polish citizen. He holds a masters´s degree in finance and banking from the Warsaw Finance School.
Peter Willisch is a Managing Director of Peakside and currently oversees the business development and investor relations. Additionally, he is responsible for the origination and investment management of core/core+ investments in Germany.
Mr. Willisch has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Peakside in 2015, Mr. Willisch was the Managing Director of PATRIZIA WohnInvest KVG since 2011 and concurrently Head of Portfolio Management at PATRIZIA Deutschland GmbH since 2013. In these positions, he was responsible for 25 funds with an aggregated volume of EUR 7 bn. Assets under Management, thereof EUR 2,5 bn. in residential assets on behalf of institutional investors. From 2007 until 2011, Mr. Willisch was Group Head of Legal at PATRIZIA Immobilien AG and in 2006/2007 real estate transaction lawyer at MEAG (Munich RE Group). From 2003 until 2006, Mr. Willisch was the head of legal at aurelis, a major German developer, for Southern Germany. Prior to joining aurelis, Mr. Willisch was real estate partner of a respected law firm at Frankfurt area and worked for the Federal Government in Berlin. During that time, Mr. Willisch held a continuing lectureship at the university of cooperative education of the saving banks association and was co-author of the “Darmstädter Baurechtshandbuch” (editor: Prof. Dr. Axel Wirth, Technical University of Darmstadt), responsible for the chapters on building permissions and land conversion.
Mr. Willisch is a German citizen. He is a German lawyer with an additional Masters of Law in Real Estate (University of Münster) and holds a degree in Real Estate Economics from the European Business school (Oestrich Winkel). Mr. Willisch is a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
Matthias Franke is a Managing Director of Peakside and currently oversees the origination, investment and asset management of core/core+ investments in Germany.
Mr. Franke has over 12 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Peakside in 2015, Mr. Franke was a Director and head of Fund Management at PATRIZIA WohnInvest KAG since 2010 and concurrently Head of Fund Management at PATRIZIA Deutschland GmbH since 2013, in charge of fund and asset management of residential funds with an aggregated volume of EUR 2,5 bn and the operational management of commercial assets for EUR 4,5 bn. for German Institutional Investors. From 2007 until 2010, Mr. Franke held different senior positions, including deputy head of acquisitions at PATRIZIA, where he was directly involved in the execution of investments exceeding EUR 800 m. Prior to joining PATRIZIA, Mr. Franke worked for Hochtief AG in different positions , including acquisition and development since 2003.
Mr. Franke is a German citizen. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics (Diplomkaufmann) from the University of Augsburg and a degree in Real Estate Economics from the European Business School (Oestrich Winkel).
Mr. Mueller is a Managing Director of Peakside and currently oversees the investment, development and asset management activities in Germany and the daily operations of Peakside´s Frankfurt office.
Mr. Müller has over 25 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Peakside in 2015, Mr. Mueller headed the Munich office of Tishman Speyer since 2013. From 2001 until 2013 Mr. Müller was a development and asset management partner for AIG/LINCOLN and other major national and international investors and developers, within XiP Chartered Surveyors for which he was a founding partner. Prior to this, Mr. Mueller was the head of Southern Germany with EIM/Vivico, a major German developer. Mr. Mueller´s early years in real estate were with Dresdner Bank, the open ended fund manager DEGI and the nationwide development company INVESTA. His tasks and responsibilities were within real estate finance, acquisition, asset management and development.
Mr. Mueller is a German citizen. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics (Diplomkaufmann) from the University of Augsburg and a degree in real estate economics from the European Business School (Oestrich Winkel). Mr. Mueller is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS).
Head of Portfolio Management
Mr. Gupta is a Principal at Peakside and focusses on Origination, Asset Management & Fundraising of value add/opportunistic investments in Germany. Mr. Gupta has over 8 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Peakside Capital in September 2010, Mr. Gupta worked in the large cap Mergers & Acquisitions team of Rothschild Investment Bank in Paris, focusing on a range of corporate transactions across the IT and Retail sectors of Europe. Since starting his career, Mr. Gupta has worked on real estate transactions in excess of €1bn, including the successful resolutions of the majority of PREF I investments as well as the acquisition, execution and ongoing asset management of all four PREF II deals to date.
Mr. Gupta is a French citizen and holds a MSc. Management (“Grande Ecole”) from ESSEC Business School in France and an undergraduate degree in Information Management from University College London.
Mr. Breś joined Peakside Polonia Management in Warsaw in June 2014 as Principal and is responsible for origination and asset management for emerging Europe with a strong focus on Central and Eastern Europe (“CEE”).
Mr. Breś has over 13 years of experience in the real estate industry and has executed transactions and functioned as a fiduciary in Germany, Poland and other CEE countries. Prior to joining Peakside, Mr. Breś was responsible for the development and execution of the acquisition strategy of Polski Holding Nieruchomości - one of the largest commercial and housing properties management and operating companies in Poland listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Before that he was leading the acquisition and asset management activities of KSP REIM while also contributing to the fund raising effort of the company. Prior to this Mr. Breś was providing business advisory services to ROBYG S.A. - a listed real estate development company. While at ROBYG, he was responsible for preparation of business plans, project finance and for coordination of the IPO process of the company. Prior to that Mr. Breś was an Asset Manager at Lehman Brothers Real Estate partners in London managing their real estate investments in Germany, Poland and other CEE countries. He also worked for Hatfield Philips in London, a specialized loan and CMBS servicing company managing portfolios of pan-European conduit and securitized loans on behalf of global banks. Mr. Breś supported investment and management of portfolios of non-performing loans and distressed assets on behalf of Lone Star in Germany. He started his professional career with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Frankfurt as a corporate finance consultant.
Mr. Breś graduated with a Masters in Finance and Banking degree from the Warsaw School of Economics. He is a charter holder of the CFA and the FRM (Financial Risk Manager). Mr. Breś is based in Warsaw, Poland.
Maximilian Marquardt is a Principal at Peakside Capital and focuses on Origination and Asset Management of value-add and opportunistic investments in Germany.
Prior to joining Peakside Capital in April 2015, Mr. Marquardt worked for the real estate investment firm Paramount Group in New York, where he held positions in the Capital Markets and in the Acquisitions team. Since starting his career, Mr. Marquardt has worked on real estate transactions in excess of ca. €600m. Before his time in New York, Mr. Marquardt worked in Venture Capital, where he focused on co-founding and structuring various companies in Asia and in Europe.
Mr. Marquardt is a German citizen and holds a B.Sc. in General Management and Business Law from the European Business School (Oestrich-Winkel), Germany and studied abroad at Seoul National University in Seoul, South Korea.
Simon Lutz is a Principal at Peakside Capital and focusses on the Origination and Investment Management of value-add and opportunistic investments in Germany.
Mr. Lutz joined Peakside Capital in 2013 as Analyst with the opening of the Frankfurt office. Since his start he has worked on real estate transactions in excess of ca. €1bn, including several PREF I investments as well as the acquisition, execution and investment management of the majority of PREF II and PREF III deals. Prior to joining Peakside, Mr. Lutz held various internships in the private equity, venture capital, real estate, advisory and asset management industry.
Mr. Lutz is a German citizen. He holds a M.Sc. in Real Estate with distinction from the University of Reading (Henley Business School), a second M.Sc. in Real Estate from the University of Regensburg (IREBS) and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Regensburg.
Head of Finance
Mrs. Fiszer-Choromańska is a Principal in Peakside Polonia Management (“PPM”) in Warsaw. She joined PPM in 2006 (at that time: AIB PPM). She manages the finance and tax processes, as well as, is responsible for transaction structuring and execution for the investments in Central and Eastern Europe.
Before joining Peakside, she worked in KPMG Warsaw, focusing on the audit of real estate funds and commercial developers. Prior to that, she was working in Philips Accounting Shared Services Centre in Łódź, Poland.
Mrs. Fiszer-Choromańska graduated with a master’s degree in Accounting and Finance Management from University of Łódź, as well as, completed post graduate studies on Taxes and Tax Law at University of Warsaw. She is Polish Chartered Auditor. She is Polish citizen, based in Warsaw, Poland.
